made a map for counter strike
I've spent a while now learning hammer and the source 2 editor and feel like im at the point with this project to publish and start getting public feedback. It's a simple layout for wingman, with the gimmick of conveyor belts around the map which mess with timings and prevent staying in certain corners.
I'm slowly working on adding more and more detail. I was having trouble for a few weeks with compile errors (needed to change windows registry keys) so that set me back a long time. This part takes a while since I'm still not sure exactly what I want in place and have to dig through part to find what can fit where. I could also start building textures and models myself, but I really dont want to.
Any feedback/criticism/ideas will be considered currently

If I had a dollar for every time I rotated the texture the wrong way, I’d buy Valve and fix this myself

Eyyy I'm not dead
Sorry for the lack of posts lately I've been working on a lot of stuff that isn't really relevant to my usual stuff so I felt it'd be weird to put it on here. Also just been depressed as usual but uhh, today I decided that's dumb even if it's not my usual medium hopefully at least some of you enjoy it. Better than being dead for months on end. So what have I been doing lately? A lot of nothing, I got back into doing workshop submissions for Counter-Strike when I got access to the CS 2 beta earlier this year. So I'll share a few of those but I've also been learning how to make TF2 cosmetics. (Yes this is the shameless check out my steam workshop plug post)

man i have complicated feelings about cs2
i think i get why they're replacing csgo entirely instead of making a new executable. they're presumably trying to avoid a smash brothers situation where the esports scene is split between multiple versions
but as a result they've basically nuked a bunch of stuff overnight. as far as i can tell, csgo maps do not run in cs2. so the csgo workshop is still active- and it's where clicking 'workshop' on cs2 in your steam library sends you!- but you are subscribing to maps you cannot play. the video game that will run them is no longer accessible. i sometimes archive levels locally if i want to preserve them, because shit disappears from the steam workshop all the time, but now the game that will play them no longer exists. garrysmod might be able to handle them but i think csgo levels generally require manual porting to gmod because they were already on a newer version of source
they've apparently provided some kind of conversion tool for recompiling maps for the new engine (this seems like it would probably work just fine, based on what i know about source 2 and its level format, which granted is not much). but presumably a map has to still have an author who has the time and gives enough of a fuck to convert it. there are an awful lot of maps that are just going to be lost forever now. and i think! that sucks!
lost media is still lost media even if it's some asshole's crude recreation of a penis in bsp brushes textured with shrek!!! we're already losing tons of weird shit people make on the internet all the time and imo weird shit somebody made on the internet still has value even if it's not professional quality or 'high art'. this reminds me of when they released a warcraft 3 patch years later to fix some kind of security vulnerability and it broke nearly every custom map, long after anyone would have cared to go back and edit their levels to work. is the loss of Mafa Queen TD and Shopping Maul on par with burning the library of alexandria? no, but it still sucks ass
idk i'm typing this through vaccine/flu shot fog so this is super incoherent and i don't have all the details. maybe things aren't as bleak as it looks. but this is exactly the kind of shit that bums me out and it sucks that i guess they didn't plan for this
#i did play 30 seconds of de_anubis and that water's looking SEXY though#in before someone circulates a pirated copy of csgo for map preservation purposes#also sometimes map authors are dead. this is not an unrealistic scenario i know of at least one semipopular gmod map#made by a guy who died in like 2018

One of the most popular CSGO maps is finally in Counter-Strike 2
While a lot of mits of the iconic antibiotics have been re -created beautifully CS2 Indeed, the square that worshiped one was unfortunately absent. However, thanks to one of the indigenous creators, he finally blesses the tactical shooter. Fresh from the Snelling Snelling Snelling Fresh workshop, an improved version of the cache is now available at Counter-Strike 2. Since Valve turned from CS:…

Hello,
This is an article (table format) I wrote featuring a mixture of common and perhaps uncommon, but useful commands in today's game. If interested, I've written a small sample with the full article listed atop (via image).
Keep in mind that for most of these commands, all you need to do is copy and paste to try them out. To undo the previous action, usually it's the same command but with a yes or no function, or, "0" / "1." Where 0 = No and 1 = Yes.
fps_max_ui 0 - no cap on FPS from the main menu only
r_drawparticles 0 - Removes some animations such molly fires. Cheats are required
cl_showfps 1 - Usually, if not always displays FPS on the top-hand corner of the screen
mp_damage_headshot_only 1- headshots only, usually on a custom workshop map or personal server
sensitivity (#) - Changes your mouse's sensitivity. Ideally, you choose a sensitivity fast enough that lets you smoothly turn around/react to enemies from behind
find cl_crosshair- Lists most of, if not all, of your crosshair settings. Note [0/1] isn't required here
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
For the left-hand view model, go to the in-game settings>>game tab>>preferred ViewModel (scroll down till you see it). You can also make a bind there to switch back and forth between the left and right hand
After the most recent updates, "cl_usenewbob 0" is no longer available. Instead, "cl_usenewbob 1" is on by default, although it's
As always, thanks for reading.

AWP | Charcoal
Recolor of my 'hardwood' design with a few tweeks to make it look a bit more like charcoal. This was mostly done to test out roughness and ambient occlusion maps in cs2 and see what can be done with them.
Standard normal mapping was done on this as well. Nothing special with it except for the fact that I have to boost the strength of it before baking and using in cs2.
I like the roughness map because it lets certain parts shine. For this skin I have the darker parts running through the skin shiny, it gives certain parts of the skin something more to do and makes it look better in direct light.
I still have no idea what ambient occlusion maps do. I would assume its a way to darken parts of the skin in light, but I didn't see much of a different. So either it's not fully implemented yet or I'm doing something wrong (we all know the answer).
Also... the nodes.
Go ahead and try and decipher this, not like I can parse anything from it.

I don’t know why I did this but I installed Linux on my computer. Ts2 runs beautifully and with some fierce beating, SimPE works. I got photoshop CS2 to work, the dinosaur, while the newer version of photoshop currently refuse.
ts2 actually runs faster on this then it did on my windows. no lag when browsing sims or when the game generates a sim, and when using simpe i get no wait time at all when opening object workshop. so that’s neat.
i just can’t survive without photoshop LOL
#rambling#text#thank u to mackieblr for helping me out#this was an impulse decision i can't really recommend it

Tilt-Shift Photography Tilt-shift photography refers to the use of camera movements on small- and medium-format cameras; it usually requires the use of special lenses. Tilt-shift actually encompasses two different types of movements: rotation of the lens relative to the image plane, called tilt, and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane, called shift. Tilt is used to control the orientation of the plane of focus (PoF), and hence the part of an image that appears sharp; it makes use of the Scheimpflug principle. Shift is used to change the line of sight while avoiding the convergence of parallel lines, as when photographing tall buildings. Another, less cost-intensive technique called tilt-shift miniature faking is a process in which a photograph of a life-sized location or object is manipulated so that it looks like a photograph of a miniature-scale model. 50 Beautiful Examples Of Tilt-Shift Photography Tilt-Shift Photography Photoshop Tutorial This tutorial was produced using Photoshop CS2 on a PC. photography techniques 3. No but this exactly. It's like... we still don't quite know what the deal was with the Summer Update Announcement, why did they announce it the way they did, why did they backpedal, why are they calling attention to the steam workshop when the steam workshop isn't really lacking for submissions, if the update really is just a standard seasonal update why did they make a blog post at all, what is happening, and now John Lowrie is back in the booth doing his thing, for some reason,
And with the news that Valve is returning to game development (CS2, with more unannounced projects confirmed for the future,) and with the success of the Steam Deck... Alright, look, I'm a Valve fan, and getting overexcited over breadcrumbs is what we do. But these are more interesting breadcrumbs than we've gotten in a WHILE, and I'm DYING to see what happens
OH MY GOD??????????
